- Third Party Administrator is a firm that Performs administrative
function like providing quality medical care, claim processing and memberships etc
for a self - funded plan start - up managed care plan.
- A contract between as Insurance Company and self - funded plan, where the Insurance
Company performs administrative services alone and does not assume any risk. The
major function is to provide quality health care, either through their own health
care delivery systems and/or through the network hospitals/accredited health institutions.
TPA functions as an intermediary between the insurer and the insured while servicing,
the TPA is expected to monitor and regulate the cost and expenditure of the medical
care also.
